  1. This is a great list. However, MA meetings (Methadone Anonymous) isn't listed. I know some people feel if you're on methadone then you are not sober but regardless its info should still be listed. :) thank you for this great site. I love the daily readings. :)

  2. There isn't a meeting for Heroin either

    1. Do we really need a 12 Step Program for each drug in the world?

      Delete
    2. Nope, we sure don't. NA covers addiction, period.

    3. NA and AA are enough for the drug and alcohol abuse. In fact AA is the best by far and most alcoholics were drug abusers too.

  3. Updated. Thanks for the suggestions.

  4. If you think you need a special meeting for your special substance, some may suggest you are living in the problem. Step into the solution and be free.

    1. Far enough Craig if you have been in the rooms for sometime. But the new comer needs identification and you old really get that at a fellowship that caters to your drug of choice.

  5. Ive posted this in a couple of places, in comments for daily readings and to the developers email (recently) and now FINALLY here.Again thank you for your efforts. I would like to simply suggest that since you reference different fellowships that you change the ICON for this app, as the circle and triangle is ALCHOLICS ANONYMOUS. I would further suggest that because of the content you are breaking traditions of both fellowships. As you have mentioned you as the programmer are a practicing sober member of ALCOHOLIC ANONYMOUS.
Please continue your hard work, but remedy the symbol, it IS misleading, thank you and God bless.

    1. The "AA" circle and triangle was never copyrighted. Another national movement uses it, but not in such great numbers as AA. Ergo free use.

  6. I downloaded this app yesterday and I love it. However, this morning after going into the readings it seems as though I cant get out. The home button returns me to a list of dates and so does the blue tab across the top. I powered my phone down and upon reloading I was able to get to the homepage (a black page containg all the tabs). Yet once I went back into the readings I find myself stuck in there again. What am I doing wrong? Help.

  7. Press the back button on your phone or press your menu button on your phone then the home option

  9. Hey Matt
I've been sending and email version of this kind of recovery letter for the last seven years (Thoughts For Today). Can you help me or show me how to setup an app? I have over 30,000 email subscribers and my IP has been freaking out.

  18. @Bryce, I looked at the Play Store and cannot find it. And am I unable to share it any longer. I use it almost daily and recommend it to folk, especially newcomers. I'm not sure if MATT reads these posts but I am leaving this message as an SOS for him to help us find the RecoveryApp Too. Thanks for help from anyone that can tell us what happened to it or where to find it.

  22. So grateful to the person who made this app. I hope AA doesnt take it away like they did the daily reading app.

  24. Thank you Mat for this wonderful 12th step work . I saw the 10th step inventory forms. I have been using some 4th step forms obtained on the Web. Google "4th step inventory forms", select one the top entries. On Dallas B's Site can be found excellent comprehensive forms and instructions. Old timers approve the forms. Sponsee procrastinators can get it done in two-three weeks taking their time. Naysayers please, no contempt prior to investigation.
Also my DROID razr seems to not let me open a new comment. Maybe? Thanks again brother Mat.

  25. Hi. I love the idea of this app...however, I am concerned about one small thing....the completed step 10 forms, does anyone else see these or are they actually saved to my phone? I ask purely out of personal interest.
    God bless

    1. Hi Vix,

Sorry about the late response. The tenth step forms are only saved on your phone. If the app is deleted or application data cleared, then the saved tenth steps will be deleted.

      Hope you still get this.
      Thanks for your support,

  28. The A.A. ICON Circle around a Triangle, is NOT PATENTED By AA fellowship.
Lot many Religious and Spiritual groups use this ICON.
Even the Safety Departments in many Industries Use the Same ICON.
    God bless us all.

  30. If u would include compulsive eaters anonymous www.ceahow.org and OA and www.foodaddictsinrecovery.org it could help a lot of us who run to the food after getting clean and seek help for food recovery if it could be added to the meeting database it would really help I'm in los Angeles thanks

  31. Thank you for the app. I use it daily.
I wanted to point out to you that the word "public" is not in tradition 10 in the 12x12 section. I wondered if this is an error or if I had missed that it had been changed?
    Just letting you know.
Thank you again for the app.

  32. Also the word "ultimate" is missing from tradition 2.

  33. "The purpose of every AA Group is the studying and discussing of the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous" quote from Bill Wilson.

    Addiction= I am the problem.
    Recovery= God is the solution.

somewhere between steps one and steps 12, I will meet and know God as I have never known him before.

  35. I'm so glad Food Addicts in Recovery (FA) is on the list. It's not at all an easy program (none of the 12 step programs are, but this one is an a** kicker), but it also saves a lot of lives, including this one.

  36. Hey Matt- I assume you are shutting down the app? Any plans to get it up and running?

  37. Hey Mat, thanks for your service! I am grateful for all of the work you put into creating this app. I especially enjoyed the daily readings. I own all of the AA literature you post but having it available on my phone has played a huge part in my sobriety. Thanks a million!

  39. Me too! I love, love, love, this app. No matter what, where, or when I could count on this app to read daily readings, pull something up to share, use it to facilitate a meeting, or even for a prayer. Thank you!

  40. Thanks for all your hard work Mat. Really appreciated the app while it was going. I'd love to collaborate with you on a recovery project.

  41. Thanks, mat, for all you've done for the recovery community.
I suspect that the one malcontent who found fault with various aspects of the respondents to the readings was at the core of this app having to disappear.
    Speculation is seductive but unproductive.

I miss having the readings open up to commentary. Often times, I found food for thought in the comments.
